38 weeks...1 day...6 days until induction date...

So...I went to the doctor today. Things are looking up. My lungs are clear. And I am progressing. I'm dilated to a "good 3" but also "significantly progressed" from last week. The baby is lower, and things are more ready. He thought I could possibly go this weekend. Since then, I have been having contractions about 10 minutes apart, so depending on whether or not things settle down, we may be looking at a baby this weekend. Yay! So think laborish thoughts...and wish us luck!

Anywho...

Here I am at 38 weeks. Look...I even posted one with most of my head in it...try to look past the 14 chins...
As the time winds down, I typed up a few things that have been kicking around in my head the last month...

I am thankful for:

Tums
Body Pillows
Friends
Heat packs
Pepsi
Fridge Locks
Warm Baths
Rage Against the Machine
"Fat Feet" Shoes
Rick
Baby Einstein Movies
not being an elephant
my Tuesday pants
antibiotics
Katy's naptime
my exercise ball
Rick
Ice Cream
Home cooked meals that I didn't have to make
girls nights
Rick

I am thankful to never have to use again after this baby:

Tums
Body Pillow
My Tuesday Pants
Urine Specimen Cups
Ambien
the phrase "after the baby comes"
maternity clothes
weekly doctors appointments

I am thankful to do again after I have this baby:

wear my wedding ring
sleep on my tummy
wear normal clothes
hold a sweet smelling newborn
paint my own toenails
work out
see the veins in my feet
scrapbook
take pictures of Little Man
roll over in bed without waking up

Things I might miss after this baby:

feeling a baby move inside me. that never lost it's magic...in four pregnancies
being able to blame it on my pregnant brain
having pregnancy to attribute food cravings to...
knocking Seth over with my belly (hey come on, it was FUNNY!)
anticipation
the turkey/cranberry/cream cheese sandwiches they bring you in the middle of the night at the hospital
Seth singing "I like 'em big...I like 'em chunky" to my belly

Here's hoping for an exciting weekend!

I remember doing a very similar post right before I had Ella.I think once you're this close to the end, these kinds of thoughts (what you'll miss, what you're looking forward to) are inevitable.

The hippos are my favorite part of Madagascar 2! That song is heard around our house a lot, too.

Love the bellyshot...you look great! I'll be sending labor vibes your way this weekend. Keep us posted and good luck!!

I still miss feeling a baby (or 2) move inside my belly!

I do NOT miss throwing up everyday though... :)

Here's hoping for this weekend! Love your lists. They sound awfully similar to my thoughts every time I get close to having a new baby. The sleeping on the tummy one--that's definitely a big one for me!

Megatron... you can do it! As Emmy would say when she is dropping her kids off at the pool, (with vein poking out on the forehead, of course) "Puuuuuuuush! Come one Poopie!" (subsitute baby for poopie)

Is the reason you're glad you're not an elephant because they are pregnant for, like, 2 years? I'm glad I'm not an elephant too. But I kind of wish I was a cat, or something. I think cat gestation is more like 6 weeks. I hope you let me know if anything happens! Bring on the Cru!

I'm hoping since I'm a few days late seeing this that baby Cru is already here! Your lists are hilarious! I am proud to announce that we are a Tums-free house! If I never have to chew up one of those chalkie little nasties again it will be too soon!
