I'm far too disenchanted with pregnancy at the moment to be posting any belly pictures. So a brief synopsis of the doctor's appt on Friday will have to do. I'm 36+ weeks. I'm dilated to an "almost two" which really just means a 1.5. Baby looks great. He's in a good position for delivery, and my doctor thinks that he wouldn't really have room to move out of that position at this point. All good news, yet I left there feeling very discouraged. I didn't really think that he would tell me that at 36 weeks I was crowning and to rush to the hospital immediately, but part of me was still holding out hope. I think the main source of my discouragement comes in the fact that I have caught this head cold from h***, and it has made my current misery 10 times worse. I cough until I vomit, I can't breathe, and when I cough or sneeze, I'm sure that my either my belly will just split open and the baby will fall out, or my water will break. In addition to the aches and pains of pregnancy...I am now fighting the aches and pains of intermittent fever. Lovely. And the worst part is that people keep saying, "Oh! You are so close! It's just flown by! It will be over before you know it."
Just know. I have given you fair warning. If you say that to me...be farther away than my right hook.
Hannah got a miscroscope for Christmas. So Hannah and Rick have undergone a couple of science projects already. The first was unrelated to the microscope. It involved a head of red cabbage, and bleach, vinegar, and baking soda.

As you can see, all three kids were deeply enthralled in the various reactions.

Other experiements included placing a celery stalk into a glass of colored water, and watching as the plant took the water up.

They cut a cross section of the celery, and examined it under the microscope. It was very cool seeing which parts of the plant were used to transfer the water, and therefore had the red dye in them...and which ones were used for other plant purposes, and remained green. Hannah ate it up. They also made a slide out of salt crystals, which was really cool to look at. Rick then put a drop of water on a slide and they just watched the movement of the water. They loved that. I love that Rick took the time to set it all up. He's such a cool dad.
Seth has been enjoying his $1.99 bow and arrow.

I don't know what possessed me to buy it, other than when I was a "tween" I had my own bow, that (poundage-wise) was set for me...and I ended up being quite the little archer. Of course it didn't last long, but I did love it for a while. Seth eats this thing up.

While I was taking pictures of him, he said, "Oh wait, This one gets them everytime!" and made this pose:

Seth's other new thing is to dress just like his dad every chance he gets. If Daddy wore cords to work, then we have to get out Seth's cords, and a similar shirt. Sundays are typically when they match the most. They even have the same style church shoe.

And Seth has to stick this old cell phone in his pocket because Rick uses his phone for his scriptures.
Hannah has no desire to dress like anyone else.

She wants to be completely unique. I keep thinking that she's going to come home heartbroken because someone told her that she looks weird, but either no one thinks she does, or Hannah doesn't care if they do. Most of the time, I like what she wears, but even if I don't...She picks out her outfits, and owns them. Never rethinking it. I just wish I could reinforce the insides of the knees on her tights and leggings. We've already lost about 6 pair.
MaKaty's new thing is yogurt. It's an obsession for her. She will run to the fridge screaming "Yogeet!" and if you don't give her one, prepare to be snubbed. She holds yogurt grudges. She's been able to open the fridge on her own for a few months now, and so suddenly I will hear her say with delight, "Yogeet!" and then I hear a drawer open and shut, and I know that she got herself a spoon and is happily eating at the table.

Only the other night, it wasn't a spoon. It was a BIG.FAT.STRAW.

Such a funny girl!
So there you are. A general update on the lot of us. Rick is definitely picking up the slack for his sick and pregnant wife. So if you see him...give him a pat on the back. He's been good to me.
I will update again on Friday. Unless I am too bitter.
